Ginger mint (Mentha × gracilis) is a hybrid mint celebrated for its warm, spicy‑mint aroma that resembles fresh ginger. It’s visually striking, strongly scented, and easy to grow — making it a favourite for herb gardens, sensory planting, and culinary use.

If you are looking for something warm and slightly spicy this is the mint for you. It also has a subtle, ginger‑like aroma. Contains menthone, carvone, and geraniol, giving a lemony‑ginger fragrance rather than the sharp menthol of peppermint

When crushed, leaves release a bright citrus‑spice scent with a refreshing finish

This makes it excellent for teas, cocktails, fruit dishes, and aromatic garnishes.

New growth sometimes looks bronze or reddish tinge when emerging, with the leaves turning bright green.

A fairly compact mint, Typically 12–18 inches (30–45 cm) tall, forming a bushy clump .

Flowers: Tiny lilac or purple whorled flowers appearing in late summer from leaf axils rather than long spikes .

Thrives in moist, well‑drained soil, and prefers full sun to partial shade (shade helps prevent leaf scorch)

Toxic to cats, dogs, and horses if consumed in large quantities due to essential oils

Safe for children to handle as a sensory plant (but concentrated oils should be used cautiously)
